Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Toxicity to birds:

The value (14 d-LD50 = 192 mg/kg bw) for the key parameter is based on the lowest observed value in a study considered to be reliable (81-0029-FKT, japanese quail, single oral application via gavage in PEG 400). In the study 81-0031-FKT (Peking ducklings, single oral application via gavage in PEG 400) LD 50 > 20 mg/Kg bw is reported. Higher values could not be tested as the animals regurgitated the test solution. The study 81-0030-FKT is regarded unreliable as the amount of active ingredient was not analyzed.

Toxicity to soil macroorganisms except arthropods, terrestrial arthropods, terrestrial plants and soil microorganisms:

Low exposure is garanteed, as no sludge application from STP on soil will be done and aerial deposition is negligible. Further, as the substance cyanuric chloride degradates rapidly in contact with water (hydrolysis) the direct exposure of soil organisms and terrestrial plants to cyanuric chloride is highly unlikely. Studies on the long-term and the short-term aquatic toxicity show that the hydrolysis products of cyanuric chloride do not have severe adverse effects.
