Additional information

Based on the physico-chemical properties of hexylene glycol (high solubility and low Log P), it is considered that it will not to adsorb to suspended solids, sediments and soils and are mobile in soil. The potential for bioaccumulation in aquatic or terrestrial species is also considered as negligible (log kow <3).

It can be considered that hexylene glycol is ready biodegradable and does not raise concern in terms of persistency. Hexylene glycol being readily biodegradable, hydrolysis test is not required and this endpoint is therefore waived.
