Results and discussion

Effect levels
Sex:
male/female
Dose descriptor:
LD50
Effect level:
1 949 mg/kg bw

Any other information on results incl. tables

The DL50 was determined at 24 hr: LD50 = 1950 mg/kg bw.

The other doses were determined within the 30 days of observations.
Maximum no lethal dose = LD0 = 1000 mg/kg bw.
Minimum lethal dose = LD100= 2000 mg/kg bw.
The toxic effects occurred within 6 days. The mice were restless and aggressive and then entered a stage of torpor.
Respiration was first accelerated then slower and arrhythmic, and a drop in body temperature, lasting 5-10 hours, was also noted.
At lethal doses, prostration and coma were noted before death.
