Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No dedicated study on short-term toxicity of 1,4-BDDMA is available. In accordance with REACH regulation Annex VII, 9.1.1., column 1, long-term toxicity data are provided instead.

Up to the highest concentration tested (30.8 mg/L) there was no mortality of the adult daphnia within the first 48 h of the daphnia reproduction study according to OECD 211 (Noack, 2012). In conclusion, the 48h EC50 for mortality was greater than 30.8 mg/L.

EC50 48 h daphnia magna of 1,4-Butanediol dimethacrylate predicted by QSAR from category trend analysis of 10 methacrylates is 28.4 mg/l. This value corresponds with the observation the the chronic test OECD 211) with 1,4 -BDDMA.
