Test solutions
- Vehicle:
- no
- Details on test solutions:
- Eldew PS-308 is very viscous and of poor water solubility; test solutions were prepared in dilution water to obtain the maximum dissolved concentration (according to OECD Guidance Document on Aquatic Toxicity Testing of Difficult Substances and Mixtures); 200 mg Eldew PS-308 were given into 2 l dilution water (2-l flask) for 48 hrs under stirring; after 48 hrs time was given for 1 hr to potential droplets to move to the surface; then 200 ml wee discarded; the following 500 ml of the test item preparation were used for the test (as stock solution without filtration)
Test organisms
- Test organisms (species):
- Daphnia magna
- Details on test organisms:
- clone V, 4-24 hrs old at test start
Study design
- Test type:
- semi-static

- freshwater
- Limit test:
- no
- Total exposure duration:
- 48 h
- Post exposure observation period:

Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Validity criteria fulfilled:
- yes
- Conclusions:
- The NOEC is >= 100 mg ELDEW PS-308 per liter nominal loading.
The EC50 is assumed to be > 100 mg ELDEW PS-308 per liter nominal loading, corresponding to water solubility under test conditions (up to 0.35 mg/l).
