Sulfolane has a low potential for exposure to the soil environment, based on its limited predicted adsorption to soil (Koc 3.35), and so is not considered to be a hazard to soil organisms. In the chemical safety assessment, risk to soil was inferred from the available aquatic toxicity data and equilibrium partition coefficient. Based on the predicted environmental exposure concentration, there were no risks to the soil compartment and so the need for further testing
