Additional information

Due to the very low solubility and high adsorption potential of the test substance, a modified OECD 301 D test result (71 % in 28 days) is considered to reflect most appropriately the biodegradation potential of the substance. Based on the modified OECD 301 D test result, the substance is considered as readily biodegradable.

Due to the ready biodegradability of Dioctadecyl 3,3'-sulfanediyldipropanoate, no further testing on biodegradation in water and sediment (simulation tests) and biodegradation testing in soil needs to be conducted for a registration under REACh (EC No. 1907/2006).
