Description of key information

The parent substance of alkyl Amido amines/imidazolines is quickly degraded via hydrolysis and the hydrolysis products are biodegraded to CO2, H2O and a polyamine. Diethylenetriamine is degraded but for the longer ethyleneamines no degradation has been observed. The parent substance and all degradation product containing amines are protonated under environmental conditions and will due to that either be strongly sorbed or degraded. The uptake via ingestion will due to this be limited.
