In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex IX in the absence of toxicity data for soil organisms, the equilibrium partitioning method may be applied to assess the hazard to soil organisms. The equilibrium partitioning method has been used for assessing the hazard to terrestrial organisms. Due a log Kow > 5 a factor of 10 was applied to the RCR. As the RCR x 10 is below 1, the substance is inherently biodegradable and not directly applied to soil, no risk for the soil compartment is assumed and hence, testing of terrestrial organisms is not required.
