GHS

General Information

Name:
Quaternary ammonium compounds, (C16-18 and C18-unsatd. alkyl)trimethyl, chlorides
Implementation:
EU
Type of classification:
self-classification
Remarks:

The test substance contains methyl chloride (≤ 0.1%), which is currently listed in the Annex VI (Part 3) of the CLP regulation with harmonised classification as Press. Gas, Flam. Gas 1, STOT RE 2 and Carc. 2 for methyl chloride. However, its presence does not trigger any additional mixture classification for the test substance, because its concentration in the test substance is well below the mixture classification cut-offs defined for STOT RE. 2 (i.e., 10%) and Carc. 2 (i.e., 1%) as per EU CLP. Additionally, the classification presented below is for the pure substance. However, the marketed substance is often produced in solution and therefore the classification for the marketed substance will be less severe.
