Additional information

According to column 2 of both annexes IX and X of REACh regulation EC 1907/2006, “long-term toxicity testing shall be proposed by the registrant if the results of the chemical safety assessment according to annex I indicates the need to investigate further the effects of the substance and/or degradation products on terrestrial organisms. In accordance with ECHA’s guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, chapter R7c (v4.0 ; June 2017; pp. 154 - 159), in the absence of toxicity data for soil organisms as is the case for 1,3 -diethyl-2 -thiourea, the equilibrium partitioning method may be applied to assess the hazard to soil organisms. Since the chemical safety assessment does not indicate any risk for the terrestrial compartment under any scenario (all RCRs to all compartments are well below 1 and all the supported uses are therefore assessed to be safe) no further testing on toxicity to terrestrial organisms is needed. All terrestrial studies are waived.
