Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The acute toxicity of thioacetic acid to Daphnia magna was assessed according to OECD 202 guideline and GLP requirements (Thiébaud, 1999). Daphnids were exposed in a static test to a nominal concentration range of 0.1 to 5 mg/L. The test concentrations of thioacetic acid were measured by HPLC and showed that the concentrations of test substance have been maintained to within 80% of the initial concentration throughout the duration of the test. Validity criteria were fulfilled. EC50 _48h was calculated to be 2.1 mg/L expressed as initial measured concentrations.
