Description of key information

The lethal concentration (LC50) value of Phenetole in fish [Lepomis macrochirus] in a 96 hr study on mortality effect was found to be 103.4304 mg/L . Thus, considering the CLP Criteria for aquatic classification of the substance , it is concluded that Phenetole does not exhibit short term toxicity to fish [Lepomis macrochirus].

By applying weight of evidence approach the endpoint values varies between 100.5 to 344 mg/l in a 24 to 96 hrs.study on the basis of mortality effect. The LC 50 value 32.95 mg/L is a classifying value. However the data is insufficient for classifying the substance. Thus, considering the CLP Criteria for aquatic classification of the substance and weight of evidence approach , it is concluded that Phenetole does not exhibit short term toxicity to fish (Lepomis macrochirus, Pimephales promelas, Leuciscus idus melanotus & Ptychocheilus oregonensis).
