Description of key information

Given that EC-202-228 has a logKow of 1.44 (IUCLID section 4.7) it is concluded that there is a low potential for bioaccumulation.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The requirement for aquatic bioaccumulation testing is laid out in REACH Annex IX, Section 9.3.2, Column 1. Column 2 of Section 9.3.2, which describes the specific rules for adaptation from Column 1, states that a study need not be conducted if:

- “the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation (for instance a log Pow = 3) and/or a low potential to cross biological membranes”.

Given that EC-202-228 has a logPow of 1.44, it is concluded that there is a low potential for bioaccumulation and bioaccumulation testing is not necessary
