Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The boiling temperature of the substance - Tar, brown-coal, low-temp.- was found out by DSC method according to the method:
Method A.2 – Boiling Temperature (1.6.6.2 Differential scanning calorimetry), Council Regulation (EC) No.440/2008, Published in O.J. L 142, 2008.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Definite value of boiling temperature of the test substance - Tar, brown coal, low temp.- could not be determined in the tested temperature range from 35°C to 500°C.

In the tested temperature range from 35°C to 500°C was observed only one wide endothermic peak (between 130°C and 340°C). This endotermic peak can be caused by the boiling one component of the test substance or partial thermal decomposition of the test substance. Thermal change of the test substance connection with the lost of the mass started at the temperature 130°C. By reason of the many various components it is not possible to determine cause of this changes (evaporation or degradation) of the test substance.
