The results of analysis of the samples taken during the limit test are described in Table 3 and Table 4 of the appended Analytical Report.
Samples taken from the limit concentration and the control were analyzed for two monitored constituents in the test material. The measured concentrations in the freshly prepared solutions at the start of the test and at the 48-h renewal were generally around nominal at the limit concentration for both constituents. The 48-hour old solutions showed that the concentrations remained stable over time.
Based on these results, effect parameters were expressed as analytically confirmed nominal concentrations.

Conclusions:
In conclusion, the 96h-LC50 for carp (Cyprinus carpio) exposed to Reaction mass of disodium 2,2’-oxydiethanesulfonate and sodium ethenesulfonate ( EC 700-978-5) was beyond the limit concentration tested, i.e. exceeded an analytically confirmed nominal concentration of 100 mg/L.
Executive summary:

The objective of the study was to evaluate the test material for its ability to generate acute toxic effects in Carp (Cyprinus carpio) during an exposure period of 96 hours and, if possible, to determine the LC50 at all observation times.


The design of this study is in compliance with the following study guidelines:


OECD Guideline 203. "Fish, Acute Toxicity Test", 2019.


The batch of Reaction mass of disodium 2,2’-oxydiethanesulfonate and sodium ethenesulfonate tested was a clear light-yellow liquid with dry residue percentage of 33.94% dissolved in water and was visually completely soluble in test medium at the concentration tested. A correction was made for the water content of the test material. A correction factor of 2.946 was used. All concentrations reported are based on dry residue.


Preparation of test solutions started with the limit concentration of 100 mg/L applying an approximately 30-minute period of magnetic stirring to accelerate dissolution of the test material in medium. The limit concentration was clear and colorless at the end of the preparation procedure.


The results of analysis of the samples taken during the limit test are described in Table 3 and Table 4 of the analytical report.


The  test duration was 96 hours, and the test type is semi-static, with  renewal of the  test solution after 48 hours.

Mortality and Sublethal effects.


Table 1 shows the mortality data and sublethal effects recorded during the limit test. 


No mortality or sublethal effects were observed in the control and at the limit concentration throughout the exposure period.


The responses recorded in this test were in agreement with what was expected based on the results of the non-GLP preliminary range finding test (Test Facility Refence No. 20332246; Appendix 2


Determination of the effect concentrations.


Table 2 shows the effect parameters based on analytically confirmed nominal concentrations.


Experimental conditions


The results of measurement of pH and dissolved oxygen concentrations are presented in Table 3 and Table 4, respectively.


The temperature continuously measured in a temperature control vessel varied between 20 and 22°C. The temperatures measured during the study in the various test vessels are presented in Table 5. All test conditions remained within the ranges prescribed by the study plan (pH: 6.0-8.5, constant within 1 unit; temperature 20-24°C, constant within 2°C; oxygen > 60% of air saturation).All validity parameters were met.
