Description of key information

One reliable (Klimisch 1; Klimisch 2 when used for read-across) toxicity study for microorganisms was available for Alchisor CAL 123 with read-across to Alchisor CAL 145. The toxicity of Alchisor CAL 123 to activated sludge was reported by Schaefer & Twilly (2010) in an OECD 209 guideline and GLP compliant study. Activated sludge was exposed nominal concentrations of toxicant for 3 hours, resulting in a 3-hr LC50 of >1,000 mg/L, based respiration.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
1 000 mg/L

Additional information

Alchisor CAL 145 comprises alkenes C13-14 hydroformylation products and read-across from the chemically-similar Alchisor CAL 123 has been used in this hazard assessment as defined in the `Read-Across Justification Document'. This reliable study result is designated as Key for the toxicity to microorganisms endpoint.
