Flash point:
97 °C
Atm. press.:
1 atm
Conclusions:
The flash point of nerol was determined to be 97°C.
The substance is not classified as flammable according to Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD) nor to Regulation (EC) N° 1272/2008 (CLP) criteria.
Executive summary:

The determination of the flash point was performed in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 440/2008, method A.9 “Flash Point” (May 2008) and the Standard Test Method ASTM D 3828-97.

The flash point was measured with a closed cup tester by an equilibrium method "Small Scale", commonly known as Setaflash where the vapours are deemed to be in temperature equilibrium with the liquid.

Two measurements were performed.

The flash point of nerol was determined to be 97°C. Therefore, The substance is not classified as flammable according to Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD) nor to Regulation (EC) N° 1272/2008 (CLP) criteria.

Description of key information

The flash point was determined with a closed cup tester by Setaflash method.
The flash point of nerol is 97°C.
Nerol is not classified as flammable according to Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD) nor to Regulation (EC) N°1272/2008 (CLP) criteria.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
97 °C

Additional information

Key study conducted according to EU A.9 guideline and ISO ASTM D3828 -97 method. The result is scientifically acceptable but not obtained under GLP. Therefore a reliability of 2 (reliable with restrictions) was assigned.
