Administrative data
First-aid measures
General information
When in doubt or if symptoms are observed, get medical advice. Remove contaminated, saturated clothing
immediately. If unconscious place in recovery position and seek medical advice. Never give anything by mouth to an
unconscious person or a person with cramps.
Following inhalation
Remove casualty to fresh air and keep warm and at rest. If breathing is irregular or stopped, administer artificial
respiration. In case of respiratory tract irritation, consult a physician.
In case of skin contact
After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap. Do not wash with: Solvents/Thinner
After eye contact
In case of contact with eyes flush immediately with plenty of flowing water for 10 to 15 minutes holding eyelids apart
and consult an ophthalmologist. Protect uninjured eye. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue
rinsing.
After ingestion
If accidentally swallowed rinse the mouth with plenty of water (only if the person is conscious) and obtain immediate
medical attention. Do NOT induce vomiting. Keep at rest.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media
alcohol resistant foam , Extinguishing powder
Unsuitable extinguishing media
Full water jet , Carbon dioxide (CO2)
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
In case of fire toxic gases may be formed. In flames as well as on hot surfaces toxic and decomposition products with
penetrating smell may be formed.
Advice for firefighters
Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical protective clothing.
Additional information
Use caution when applying carbon dioxide in confined spaces. Carbon dioxide can displace oxygen. Move undamaged
containers from immediate hazard area if it can be done safely. Use water spray jet to protect personnel and to cool
endangered containers. Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. Do not allow entering drains or surface
water.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Avoid dust formation.
For non-emergency personnel
Remove persons to safety. Provide adequate ventilation. See protective measures under point 7 and 8.
For emergency responders
Prevent spread over a wide area (e.g. by containment or oil barriers). Wear breathing apparatus if exposed to
vapours/dusts/aerosols.
Environmental precautions
Clear spills immediately. Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains. Do not allow to enter into soil/subsoil. In
case of gas escape or of entry into waterways, soil or drains, inform the responsible authorities.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Contain and collect spillage with a vacuum cleaner or by wet brushing and place in container for disposal according to
local regulations. Avoid dust formation. Clean contaminated articles and floor according to the
environmental legislation. Ventilate affected area.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling
Minimum standard for preventive measures while handling with working materials are specified in the TRGS 500.
Normal precautions taken when handling chemicals should be observed. Avoid dust formation. Wear breathing
apparatus if exposed to vapours/dusts/aerosols. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Protective measures
Measures to prevent aerosol and dust generation
The substance should only be handled in closed apparatus or systems. If handled uncovered, arrangements with
local exhaust ventilation have to be used.
Advices on general occupational hygiene
When using do not eat, drink, smoke, sniff. Wash hands before breaks and after work.
In the immediate working surroundings there must be
Emergency shower installed . Provide eye shower and label its location conspicuously .
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Keep container tightly closed and in a well-ventilated place. Make sure spills can be contained, e.g. in sump pallets or
kerbed areas. Restrict access to stockrooms.
Hints on joint storage
Storage class (TRGS 510) : 13
Further information on storage conditions
Keep/Store only in original container. Ensure adequate ventilation of the storage area.
Maximum storage temperature : 40 °C
Protect against : Heat. UV-radiation/sunlight.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Control parameters
None
Exposure controls
Appropriate engineering controls
Technical measures and the application of suitable work processes have priority over personal protection equipment.
The substance should only be handled in closed apparatus or systems. If handled uncovered, arrangements with local
exhaust ventilation have to be used.
Personal protection equipment
Eye/face protection
Eye glasses with side protection or Face protection shield ( DIN EN 166 )
Skin protection
Hand protection
The quality of the protective gloves resistant to chemicals must be chosen as a function of the specific working place
concentration and quantity of hazardous substances. Avoid contact with the skin and mouth.
Suitable gloves type : protective gloves ( EN ISO 374 )
Thickness of the glove material : ≥ 0.4 mm
Additional hand protection measures : After washing hands replace lost skin fat by fat containing skin creams.
Remark : For special purposes, it is recommended to check the resistance to chemicals of the protective gloves
mentioned above together with the supplier of these gloves.
Body protection
Use appropriate skin protection cream before work. Chemical resistant safety clothing.
Respiratory protection
Respiratory protection necessary at: insufficient ventilation , insufficient exhaust
Suitable respiratory protection apparatus:
Filtering device (DIN EN 147) , Self-contained respirator (breathing apparatus) (DIN EN 133)
General information
The usual precautionary measures for the handling of chemicals have to be observed. Do not eat or drink during work
- no smoking. Wash hands and face before breaks and after work and take a shower if necessary.
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity
No information available.
Chemical stability
The substance is chemically stable under recommended conditions of storage, use and temperature.
Possibility of hazardous reactions
No information available.
Conditions to avoid
Stable under recommended storage and handling conditions. Do not store at temperatures above 40 °C
Incompatible materials
No information available.
Hazardous decomposition products
Thermal decomposition can lead to the escape of irritating gases and vapours.
Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methods
Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains. Dispose according to legislation. The waste code has to be identified
in agreement with the disposal company or the competent authority.
Directive 2008/98/EC (Waste Framework Directive)
After intended use
Contaminated packages must be completely emptied and can be re-used following proper cleaning. Handle
contaminated packages in the same way as the substance itself.
