Additional information

One study investigated the toxicity of the test substance Y-15866 to activated sludge microorganisms (Eisner, 2010). The study was performed according to OECD 209, with activated sludge from wastewater treatment plant treating predominately domestic wastewater. The respiration rate of activated sludge was investigated after an incubation period of 3 h at the loading rate of 1389 mg/L corresponding to 1000 mg/L corrected for the impurities of the test item. No signs of inhibition of respiration occurred. Therefore, this study resulted in an EC50 (3 h) of > 1389 mg/L and a NOEC (3 h) of = 1389 mg/L. An inhibition of the degradation process in sewage treatment plants is not anticipated. As the substance is hydrolytically unstable this study also reflects the possible effects of the hydrolysis products.
