Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

SKIN: in case of skin irritation rinse affected areas with water and wash gently. Do not rub or scratch exposed skin.

EYES: in case of eye contact, flush abundantly with water: have eye bath available. Do not rub eyes.

NOSE AND THROAT: If these become irritated move to a dust free area, drink water and blow nose

If symptoms persist, seek medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

non-combustible substance

Accidental release measures

Where abnormally high dust concentrations occur, provide workers with appropriate respiratory protective equipment

Prevent further dust dispersion for example by damping materials

do not use compressed air for clean up .

Handling and storage

Minimise manual handling, which can be a source of dust emission.

carry out regular housekeeping to minimise secondary dust dispersal store in original packaging in a dry area, emptied containers which may contain debris should be cleaned before disposal or recycling

Exposure controls / personal protection

use engineering controls whenever possible to minimise dust dispersion, keep the workplace clean using a HEPA filtered vacuum cleaner, avoiding brushing and compressed air

SKIN PROTECTION: wear gloves and work clothes, which are loose fitting at the neck and wrist. Soiled clothes should be cleaned to remove excess fibres before being taken off (e.g. use vacuum cleaning, not compressed air)

EYE PROTECTION: None required

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: for dust concentrations below the exposure limit value, RPE is not required, FFP2 respirators may be used on a voluntary basis.

Stability and reactivity

product is stable under normal use and storage conditions,

DECOMPOSITON PRODUCTS: Upon heating above 900°C for sustained periods, this amorphous material begins to transform into mixtures of crystalline phases

Disposal considerations

Waste from these materials may be generally disposed of at landfill
