The flash point was determined with the method according to Pensky-Martens (DIN EN ISO 2719). TFEE-5 was placed in a stirred test vessel (120 r/min) which was progressively heated (8.5 K/min) until the liquid boiled. A defined gas flame was used as ignition source. The flame was periodically dipped into the gas atmosphere of the test vessel (every 1 K). TFEE-5 boiled at 225 °C. No flash point was observed in two trials (done with 119.1 g or 124.2 g TFEE-5, respectively).

Conclusions:
TFEE-5 has no flash point under atmospheric conditions (1013 hPa) up to 225°C.
Executive summary:

Flash point of TFEE-5 was assessed using a Pensky-Martens closed cup apparatus according to method EC440/2008 A.9. Two samples were heated until boiling at 225 °C. No flash point was observed.

This study was performed according to internationally accepted test guidelines and in accord with GLP criteria. It is valid without restriction.
