Description of key information

Column 2 (9.2) of REACH (Regulation 1907/2006/EC) Annex IX suggests that simulation testing on ultimate degradation in soil is needed if the chemical safety assessment according to Annex I of the REACH Regulation indicates the need to investigate further the degradation of the substance and its degradation products. The CSA does not trigger further simulation testing under the assumption of no biodegradation of the substance. Thus it is assumed that degradation does not occur in soil. Moreover exposure of soil is unlikely as explained in the exposure assessment.
