First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air, seek emergency medical

attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with clean water for 20 - 30 minutes. Seek

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash affected area thoroughly

with mild soap and water. If irritation develops, seek

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, carbon dioxide, foam, alcohol resistant or dry

chemical may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon.

Protective equipment: Full personal protective clothing and a self-contained

breathing apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Isolate spillage. Ensure affected area is well ventilated

and extinguish all sources of ignition. Full personal

protective clothing (see 2.3.1) and a personal respirator

should be worn. Take up spill with suitable material eg

sand, and transfer to suitably labelled containers. Dispose

of in accordance with local regulations. Avoid spillage into

sewage system or open water.

Handling and storage

Handling: The usual precautions for the handling of organic chemicals

should be observed. The substance should be handled in a

well ventilated area. Gloves, goggles and full personal

protective equipment should be worn.

Storage: Store in tightly closed, properly vented containers away

from heat, open flame and strong oxidising agents.  Use only

non-sparking tools.  Flammable/combustible residue remains

after emptying.  Store in properly lined steel/stainless

steel to avoid slight discoloration from mild steel/copper.

Some plastics/rubbers are attacked by glycol ethers/ether

esters.  This product will absorb water if exposed to the

air.
