Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Instantly remove any clothing soiled by the product.
In case of irregular breathing or respiratory arrest provide artificial respiration.
. After inhalation: In case of unconsciousness bring patient into stable side position for transport.
. After skin contact: Clean with water and soap. If possible, also wash with polyethylene glycol 400. Seek medical treatment.
. After eye contact: Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. Then consult doctor.
. After swallowing: Do not induce vomiting; instantly call for medical help. Drink copious amounts of water and provide fresh air. Instantly call for doctor.
Fire-fighting measures
. For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents Water with a full water jet.
. Special hazards caused by the material, its products of combustion or resulting gases: Can be released in case of fire - Carbon monoxide (CO)
. Protective equipment: Do not inhale explosion gases or combustion gases. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
. Measures for environmental protection: Prevent material from reaching sewage system, holes and cellars. Dilute with much water.
. Measures for cleaning/collecting: Absorb with liquid-binding material (sand, diatomite, acid binders, universal binders, sawdust). Send for recovery or disposal in suitable containers. Dispose of contaminated material as waste. Ensure adequate ventilation.
Handling and storage
HANDLING: Use only with adequate ventilation. When using, do not eat, drink or smoke. Wash exposed areas thoroughly with soap and water, or a waterless handcleaner, after skin contact and before eating, drinking, using tobacco products, or toilets.
This substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions in accordance with REACH regulation article 18(4) for transported isolated intermediates. Site documentation to support safe handling arrangments include the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based managment systems is available at each manufacturing site.
Written confirmation of application of strictly controlled conditions has been recieved from every affected distributor or manufacturer/ downstream user of the registrant's intermediate

Exposure controls / personal protection
. General protective and hygienic measures
Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and food. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Wash hands during breaks and at the end of the work. Store protective clothing separately. Avoid contact with the eyes and skin.
. Breathing equipment: Not required.
. Protection of hands: Only use chemical-protective gloves with CE-labelling of category III.
. Material of gloves
The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.
. Penetration time of glove material
The exact break trough time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.
. For the permanent contact in work areas without heightened risk of injury (e.g. Laboratory) gloves made of the following material are suitable:
Nitril rubber; Butyl rubber; e.g. glove of Fa. KCL, www.KCL.de (sitemap): Camatril (art.-no. 735, level 6, >480min), Butoject (art.-no.: 898,
level 6, >480min)
. Eye protection:
Tightly sealed safety glasses. Gauze goggles
. Body protection: Protective work clothing.
Stability and reactivity
CONDITIONS TO AVOID: Minimise contact with material. Avoid inhalation of material or combustion byproducts. Keep out of water supplies and drains.
INCOMPATIBILITIES: oxidising materials, metals
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION: Thermal decomposition or combustion products: carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons
Disposal considerations
. European waste catalogue
The waste code classification is to be carried out according to the European Waste Catalogue (EWC) specifically for each branch of industry and each type of process.
. Uncleaned packagings:
. Recommendation:
Empty contaminated packagings thoroughly. They can be recycled after thorough and proper cleaning. Disposal must be made according to official regulations.
. Recommended cleaning agent: Water, if necessary with cleaning agent.
