- As a preliminary test the pKa values of the test item were calculated using the Perrin calculation method:

RRCHOH = 12.76
According to these values the Titration method was not an applicable method, as it is not applicable for pKa lower than 2 and higher than 11.
For the Spectrophotometric method a test was performed to see whether the test item had UV absorption. In the UV/Vis absorption spectra no significant absorption was observed.
