Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
After inhalation: Move affected person into fresh air, keep warm and allow to rest.
Following skin contact: Instantly wash with water.
Following eye contact: Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water
Following ingestion: Wash stomach shortly after swallowing, otherwise give the patient lots of fluid to drink. Obtain medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Product itself does not burn. Extinguishing media are to be selected to suit the fire in the surrounding area.
Hazardous decomposition products: Sulphur oxides (SOx).
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions: Ensure adequate ventilation. Use personal protective equipment. Avoid dust formation.
Enviromental precautions: Should not be released into the environment.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling: Avoid dust formation.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Store away from oxidizing agents and water.

Exposure controls / personal protection
There are no special exposure limits for sodium thiosulphate. Avoid the formation of fine dust. A general occupational exposure limit (OEL) value of 4 mg/m3 applies to such dust.
The product does not contain any relevant quantities of substances with specific exposure limit values that require monitoring.
When using do not eat, drink, smoke, sneeze.
Wash hands before breaks and after work.
Stability and reactivity
Stable
Disposal considerations
Dispose according to local legislation.
