First-aid measures
4.1 Description of first aid measures
General advice In the case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice
immediately (show the label where possible).
Inhalation When inhaled remove to fresh air and seek medical aid. Oxygen or
artificial respiration if needed.Skin contact Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash off
immediately with soap and plenty of water. Start medical treatment
immediately.
Eye contact Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at
least 15 minutes. Eye treatment by an ophthalmologist.
Ingestion Do NOT induce vomiting. Do not induce vomiting or give anything by
mouth to an unconscious person. Rinse mouth. Obtain medical
attention.
4.2 Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
Symptoms Inhalation may provoke the following symptoms:, corrosive effects,
Aspiration may cause pulmonary oedema and pneumonitis., Skin
disorders, Laryngitis
4.3 Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
Treatment Treat symptomatically.
Fire-fighting measures
5.1 Extinguishing media
Suitable Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon
dioxide.
5.2 Special hazards arising
from the substance or
mixture
Dangerous gases are evolved in the event of a fire., In the event of fire
the following may be released:, Carbon monoxide (CO), Carbon
dioxide (CO2), Hydrogen chloride (HCl)
5.3 Advice for firefighters
Special protective
equipment for firefighters
In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
Further information Cool closed containers exposed to fire with water spray.
Accidental release measures
6.1 Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Precautions Use personal protective equipment. Avoid contact with spilled product
or contaminated surfaces. Remove all sources of ignition.
6.2 Environmental
precautions
Retain and dispose of contaminated wash water. Do not allow to get
into surface water, drains and ground water.
6.3 Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up
Methods for cleaning up Sweep up or vacuum up spillage and collect in suitable container for
disposal.
Handling and storage
This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each manufacturing site.
7.1 Precautions for safe handling
Advice on safe handling Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
Advice on protection
against fire and explosion
Take measures to prevent the build up of electrostatic charge. Keep
away from heat and sources of ignition. Vapours may form explosive
mixture with air.
Hygiene measures Keep away from food, drink and animal feedingstuffs. Handle in
accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.
7.2 Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Requirements for storage
areas and containers
Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place.
Advice on common storage Keep away from food, drink and animal feedingstuffs.
