Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

If inhaled: Keep patient calm, remove to fresh air, seek medical attention. Immediately administer a corticosteroid from a controlled dose inhaler.

On skin contact: Immediately wash thoroughly with plenty of water, apply sterile dressings, consult a skin specialist.

On contact with eyes: Immediately wash affected eyes for at least 15 minutes under running water with eyelids held open, consult an eye specialist.

On ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Immediately rinse mouth and then drink 200-300 ml of water, seek medical attention.

General: Immediately remove contaminated clothing. If the patient is likely to become unconscious, place and transport in stable sideways position (recovery position).

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: dry powder, alcohol-resistant foam

Fumes/fog can be released in case of fire.

Advice for fire-fighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical-protective clothing.

Accidental release measures

Use personal protective clothing.

Contain contaminated water/firefighting water. Do not discharge into drains/surface waters/groundwater.

Cleaning up for large amounts: Dike spillage. Cover with blanket of foam (alcohol-resistant foam). Pump off product.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling: Ensure thorough ventilation of stores and work areas.

Protection against fire and explosion: Substance is capable of accumulating a static charge which could act as an ignition source.

Conditions for safe storage: Segregate from strong acids, strong bases, heavy-metal salts and strong oxidizing agents.

Protect from temperatures above 50 °C.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Respiratory protection: Suitable respiratory protection for lower concentrations or short-term effect: Gas filter for gases/vapours of organic compounds (boiling point >65 °C, e. g. EN 14387 Type A)

Hand protection: Chemical resistant protective gloves (EN 374) Suitable materials also with prolonged, direct contact (Recommended:  Protective index 6, corresponding > 480 minutes of permeation time according to EN 374): e.g. nitrile rubber (0.4 mm), chloroprene rubber (0.5 mm), polyvinylchloride (0.7 mm) and other. Supplementary note: The specifications are based on tests, literature data and information of glove manufacturers or are derived from similar substances by analogy. Due to many conditions (e.g. temperature) it must be considered, that the practical usage of a chemical-protective glove in practice may be much shorter than the permeation time determined through testing. Manufacturer's directions for use should be observed because of great diversity of types.

Eye protection: Tightly fitting safety goggles (cage goggles) (e.g. EN 166) and face shield.

Body protection: Body protection must be chosen based on level of activity and exposure., acid- resp. lye-proof apron, e.g. of rubber (f.e. according to EN 14605), protection boots, f.e. of rubber (e.g. according to EN 20346), acid-proof chemical protection suit (f.e. according to EN 14605)

Stability and reactivity

The product is stable if stored and handled as prescribed/indicated.

No corrosive effect on metal.

Substances to avoid: strong acids, strong bases, heavy metal salts, strong oxidizing agents

No hazardous decomposition products if stored and handled as prescribed/indicated.

Disposal considerations

Must be disposed of or incinerated in accordance with local regulations.

Contaminated packaging: Packs that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of in the same manner as the contents.
