Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media

Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.

Extinguishing media which shall not be used for safety reasons

High volume water jet

Specific hazards during fire fighting

Cool closed containers exposed to fire with water spray. Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters

Use personal protective equipment.

Further information

Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions

Wear respiratory protection. Wear personal protective equipment

Environmental precautions

Avoid subsoil penetration. Do not allow material to contaminate ground water system. Do not contaminate water. If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.

Do not let product enter drains.

Methods for cleaning up

Remove mechanically and with care (e.g. with clean polyethylene plastic shovel). Contain and collect spillage with non-combustible absorbent material, (e.g. sand, earth, diatomaceous earth, vermiculite) and place in container for disposal according to local / national regulations.

Additional advice

Never add other substances or waste material to product residue. Move product residue to a safe place and dispose of properly.

Handling and storage

Handling

For personal protection please refer to the correspondent section below.

Storage

Requirements for storage areas and containers

Electrical installations / working materials must comply with the technological safety standards. Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. Keep container tightly closed. No smoking.

Further information on storage conditions

Avoid impurities (e.g. rust, dust, ash), risk of decomposition.

Advice on common storage

Store apart from other dangerous and incompatible substances.

Storage temperature

< 30 °C

Remarks

Storing temperature for reasons of quality liquid up to -25 °C
