Administrative data
First-aid measures
General advice
If unconscious place in recovery position and seek medical advice. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If breathing is irregular or stopped, administer artificial respiration. When symptoms persist or in all cases of doubt seek medical advice.
Inhalation
Remove from exposure, lie down. Move to fresh air. Keep patient warm and at rest. Artificial respiration and/or oxygen may be necessary. Call a physician.
Skin contact
Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash off immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Treat for frostbite if necessary by gently warming affected area. Do not use hot water. Call a physician immediately.
Eye contact
Hold eyelids apart and flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention.
Ingestion
Is not considered a potential route of exposure.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media
Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.
Specific hazards during firefighting
The product is not flammable. Closed containers exposed to extreme heat can rupture due to pressure build-up. Hazardous decomposition products formed under fire conditions.
Acid fluorides
Potentially toxic fluorinated compounds
Exposure to decomposition products may be hazardous to health.
Special protective equipment for firefighters
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit. Wear neoprene gloves during cleaning up work after a fire.

Evacuate personnel to safe areas.
Cool containers / tanks with water spray. Protect from hydrogen fluoride fumes which react with water to form hydrofluoric acid. Do not allow run off to get into the drains.

Personal precautions
Immediately evacuate personnel to safe areas. Keep upwind of leak - evacuate until gas has dispersed. Ventilate area, especially low or enclosed places where heavy vapors might collect. Pay attention to the spreading of gases especially at ground level (heavier than air) and to the direction of the wind. Refer to protective measures listed in sections 7 and 8. Control access to area.
Environmental precautions
Do not discharge to streams, ponds, lakes or sewers. Avoid subsoil penetration.
Methods for cleaning up
Allow to evaporate. Prevent further leakage or spillage.
Handling and storage
Advice on safe handling
Refill and handle product only in closed system. Avoid breathing vapours or mist. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Engineering and/or administrative controls, in combination with personal protective equipment, should be employed to protect workers from exposure hazards. For personal protection see section 8.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion
Avoid open flames and high temperatures.
Requirements for storage areas and containers
Avoid long storage (>1 month) above 24 deg C (75 deg F). Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Store in original container. Keep away from direct sunlight. Keep away from heat. Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. Protect from contamination. Keep locked up or in an area accessible only to qualified or authorised persons.
Advice on common storage
Keep away from oxidising agents, strongly acid or alkaline materials and amines.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Engineering measures
Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas.
Eye protection
Wear coverall chemical splash goggles.
Eye protection complying with EN 166.
Additionally wear a face shield where the possibility exists for face contact due to splashing, spraying or airborne contact with this material. A full-face mask respirator provides protection from eye irritation.

Take note of the information given by the producer concerning permeability and break through times, and of special workplace conditions (mechanical strain, duration of contact). Protective gloves complying with EN 374.
Skin and body protection
To prevent any contact, wear impervious clothing such as gloves, apron, boots, jacket, pants, hood or totally encapsulating chemical suit with breathing air supply.

Avoid exposure - obtain special instructions before use.
Hygiene measures
Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs. When using do not eat, drink or smoke.
Respiratory protection
Vapors are heavier than air and can cause suffocation by reducing oxygen available for breathing. Use respirator when performing operations involving potential exposure to vapor of the product. Wear a positive-pressure supplied-air respirator with full face-piece.
Stability and reactivity
Risk of violent reaction.
Autodecomposition
Polymerization will occur only in the presence of chemical initiators.
