Any other information on results incl. tables
The dissociation constant of the test substance at room temperature (circa 22°C) was determined within this study as pKa between 1.4 and 5.8 for the acid range, using the six mean values of three experiments.
The pKavalue for the alkaline range was not determined because it was not recognized as a real one. The investigations for the hydrolysis show the decomposition of the reactive-dyes in alkaline solutions.
The quoted guideline demands pure or commercial grade substances for carrying out the described test methods. So it is not possible to calculate the possible effects of impurities on the overall results.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- The substance dissociates in the presence of acid, and decomposes in the presence of alkali.
- Executive summary:
The substance displayed a range of dissociation in the acid range; this is expected given the structural formula of the substance(s). Decomposition in the alkaline solutions was observed, however decomposition products were not assessed.
