Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The test item is not readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria

Additional information

An experimental study according to OECD 301D and GLP regulations was conducted to assess the readily biodegradability of the test item. The inoculum consisting of acitvated sludge from a domestic sewage plant was eposed to a concentration of 1,52 mg/L and 2,32 mg/L test item for a test period of 28 d.

The consumed O2 was measured electrometric in BOD bottles every 7 days. After 28 d 12 % were degraded (Hoest AG, 1995). Therfore the substance is not readily biodegradble according to OECD criteria.

In another biodegradation study according to OECD guideline 301 B 31 % were degradaed after 28 d and 33 % after an extended incubation time of 42 d (Hoechst AG, 1994). These values support the results from the OECD 301D test. Despite dome deviations from the guideline, these results indicate that the test item is partly biodegradble under enhanced conditions.
