Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Hydroxylammonium chloride is the hydrochloric acid salt of hydroxylamine. The substance bears a high water solubility of approx. 470 g/L (at 20°C) and is expected to be mainly present in water in case of release into the environment. Hydroxylammonium chloride will dissociate in aqueous environments to hydroxylammonium and chloride ions. The adsorption properties of hydroxylammonium are expected to be similar to those of ammonium due to their similar chemistry. Kd values between 0 and 6.5 L/Kg are reported for ammonium in public literature, which indicate a low potential for adsorption. The highest Kd value of 6.5 L/Kg was used as a worst case concerning the exposure of soil organisms and was used for further assessment. Since hydroxylammonium chloride is not considered stable under environmental conditions, the above mentioned Kd values represent a worst case scenario.
