Description of key information

The temperature of the sample did not exceed the oven temperature by 60°C in the study. On the basis of the test results, rhodium black is not a self-heating substance.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Michael-Schulz (2012) is a guideline experimental study following UN method N4. It is not GLP compliant, but is otherwise adequate for assessment as the key study for this endpoint. The temperature of the sample did not exceed the oven temperature by 60°C in the study. On the basis of the test results, rhodium black is not a self-heating substance.

Adinex (2010) follows EU method A16 and is suitable for use as supporting information for this endpoint. The auto-ignition temperature of rhodium has been determined to be >400 °C.
