Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
relative density
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study without detailed documentation
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 109 (Density of Liquids and Solids)
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
oscillating densitimeter
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Test System
1 Densimeter
Apparatus following OECD 109
Specification: Handheld Density Meter, Densito
Material Number(s): 30330857
Supplier: Mettler Toledo
The Densito with automatic compensation temperature is an oscillating densitometer. A mechanical oscillator, constructed in the form of a U-tube, is vibrated at its resonance frequency which depends on its mass.
Usage followed the User Manual of Handheld Density Meter provided with the equipment.
2 Filling tube
The filling tube is assembled to the densimeter by a connector and washer.
3 Data Acquisition
All observations and data will be documented by hand. At the end of each experiment the result was displayed. This result was used for the evaluation.
4 Test vessel
A glass beaker with 100 mL nominal volume with the sample and another glass beaker for the waste.
