Description of key information

Santalol oil can be evaluated as readily biodegradable in an CO2 Test in sealed vessels (Headspace Test) based on the quantitative determination of the formed total inorganic carbon by comparison with the applied amount of total organic carbon (TOC). Evaluation was conducted in accordance to criteria of the OECD Test Guideline 310.

Because the test substance is a UVCB, the criterion of the ten days window was not applied in the evaluation of results.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable
Type of water:
freshwater
