Conclusions:
Under the study conditions, the solubility of the test susbtance was estimated to be 827, 797, 836 g/L at 10, 20 and 30°C for isopropanol, <0.000424 g/L at 10, 20°C and 30°C for hexane and 248 g/L at 20°C for n-octanol respectively.
Executive summary:

The solubility of DDAC was determined using the flask method according to OECD Guideline 105 and EU Method A.6. The solubility in isopropanol, n-hexane and n-octanol was determined using the flask method. A preliminary test was carried out as a range-finding test prior to performance of the flask method. The solubility in n-octanol was determined at 20°C. The solubility in isopropanol and n-hexane were determined at 10°C, 20°C and 30°C. The results were given as the mean value of the analysed concentrations.

Description of key information

The solubility of the test substance was determined using the flask method according to OECD Guideline 105 and EU Method A.6 (Brekelmans, 2012).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Solubility in organic solvents at 20°C:
248 g/L

Additional information

- The solubility was estimated to be 827, 797 and 836 g/L at 10, 20 and 30°C in isopropanol, <0.000424 g/L at 10, 20°C and 30°C in hexane and 248 g/L at 20°C in n-octanol, respectively.

- Data presented in the DDAC assessment report for Product Type 8 conducted under Directive 98/8/EC (evaluating Competent Authority: Italy, June 2015, attached in Section 13 of the IUCLID dataset) reported slightly higher n-octanol solubility ranging from >250 g/L (US ISC) to 269 g/L (EQC) at 20°C.

As the values are quite comparable, the n-octanol solubility value of 248 g/L derived from the study with the purified form of the registered substance has been considered further for hazard/risk assessment.
