Test guideline
- Qualifier:
- according to guideline
- Guideline:
- EU Method A.14 (Explosive properties)
- Deviations:
- not specified
- Principles of method if other than guideline:
- For testing for sensitivity to impact (Fallhammer-Test) the sample iis enclosed in a shock device which consists of two coaxial steel cylinders, one on the top of the other, and a hollow steel cylinder as aguide ring. This shock device, which must contain 40 mm³ of the sample, is placed on an anvil and subjected to the impact of different drop weights. The impact energy can be varied both by the selection of the drop height and by the selection of the drop weight.
The lowest impact energy just sufficient to cause an explosion is determined.
If an explosion occurs at an impact energy of <= 40 Nm, the substance is explosive acc. EU 67/548/EEC - GLP compliance:
- no

Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Interpretation of results:
- non explosive
- Remarks:
- Migrated information
- Conclusions:
- The test item was not eplosive in the Fallhammer-Test
- Executive summary:
The test item was tested for sensitivity to impact according to the Fallhammer-Test, using a drop weight of 10 kg and a drop height of 40 cm (= 40 Nm). This test was performed 6 times and no explosion occured. Two times no reaction and 4 times small release of smoke but without flame. release of smoke without flame is not rated as explosion
