EC number: 247-384-8
CAS number: 25973-55-1
As the substance is not volatile and poorly
water soluble distribution to soil, sediment and sludge is expected if
released to environment.
uses it can be assumed that the first receiving compartment of the
substance is freshwater after passing wastewater treatment systems where
adsorption to sludge and elimination is expected. Risk management
measures are applied. However, the
substance is used as stabiliser for polymers for following applications:
coatings, plastics, polyurethanes and adhesives. The concentrations in
the corresponding end use applications are very low (< 5 %) and
emissions to the different environmental compartments from these end
uses are negligible as the substance is included in a matrix.
In the workplace the body may come
into contact with the compound. The substance may possibly enter the
body by inhalation, by contacting and passingthrough
the skin (dermal route), or in rare cases by swallowing (ingestion). For
professional and consumer use, the majority of applications contain the
substance at concentrations of < 5 %. Since the substance is
predominantly included in a matrix in minimal proportions the exposure
can be neglected. Provided the worker handles pure substance,
masterbatches or formulations with substantial proportions of the
substance appropriate risk reduction measures have to be taken into
account. By implementation of the RMMs as well as following the
recommendation for the duration of activities displayed in the
individual exposure scenarios, the worker is not at risk.
