Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The acute toxicity study of DEGDN to the green alga was performed.
EC50(5d) - Selenestrum capricornutum: 39.1 mg/L

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
39.1 mg/L

Additional information

Selenestrum capricornutum was the most sensitive species tested with DEGDN. The Selenestrum capricornutum test is an indicator of chronic toxicity since it measures reproduction over the exposure period. thus, although not directly comparable to the acute toxicity data, the algal data give an indication of possible chronic effect levels for DEGDN.

The value EC50 (5d) for Selenestrum capricornutum based on dry weight was used for C&L, no for Chemical Safety Assessment.
