Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
The activated sludge respiration inhibition of the test substance, TM 09-217, was assessed according to OECD Test Guideline 209 using a respiration test (carbon and ammonium oxidation) method. The nominal TM 09-217 concentrations used in the study were 10, 100 and 1000 mg/L; a single replicate was tested at 10 mg/L and 100 mg/L and three replicates at 1000 mg/L. The control consisted of two replicates. Concentrations of TM 09-217 were measured using gas chromatography with mass spectrometric detection (GC-MS). In samples of freshly prepared medium prior to incubation, measured concentrations of TM 09-217 had been adequately achieved ranging between 87 and 112% of their nominal values. At the end of incubation (thirty minutes) measured concentrations of TM 09-217 decreased, ranging between less than the limit of detection to 43% of their nominal values (between 0 and 46% of their starting values). Based on a geometric mean, the mean measured concentrations of TM 09-217 were 1.47, 57.1 and 650 mg/L, and these values have been used in the assessment of inhibition of the test substance. At the end of the incubation period, levels of inhibition were 0%, 51% and 79% (mean) at 1.47, 57.1 and 650 mg/L respectively, The EC50 of TM 09-217 was found to lie within the range 10 to 100 mg/L (geometric mean measured concentration) and NOEC was 1.47 mg/L.
