There are studies for acute toxicity of three trophic levels (fish, daphnia, algae) with fish and daphnia study showing no effect up to the highest test concentration which was 100 mg/L. Algae study showed effects with an ErC50 = 43 mg/L and PNEC aquatic freshwater, PNEC marine water and PNEC intermittent release were derived based on the algae study.
No hazard was identified for PNEC STP, PNEC air and PNEC secondary poisoning and, therefore, no PNEC was derived.
PNEC sediment freshwater/marine water and soil were derived by equilibrium partitioning method (using molecular weight, vapour pressure and water solubility of the substance).
Conclusion on classification
The substance shows a log Kow range 1.82 - 3.72 and a BCF of 3.16. For both endpoints there is no study available but results seem reliable in particular since the low BCF is supported by ready biodegradability of the substance (100% in 28 days, fulfilling the 10 day window). Furthermore, the substance shows a high water solubility (substance is solution with about 58% water content). The most critical toxicity with acute data was determined with algae giving an ErC50 = 43 mg/L.
In accordance with the criteria set by Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, CLP Regulation, the substance is not classified for environmental hazards.
