Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Results

Preliminary Test

The test item was put into the capillary tube, fused at one end, so that the filling level was approximately 4 to 6 mm. Then the filled capillary tube was centrifuged for 10 minutes at 4000 rpm and placed into the metal heating block of the instrument.

Main Test

A small amount of the test item was placed in a capillary tube. Then the filled capillary tube was centrifuged for 10 minutes at 4000 rpm and placed into the metal heating block of the instrument. The device was heated to the starting temperature of approx. 303.15 K (30 °C) since melting point apparatus can only heat 10 K above room temperature. The filled capillary tube was inserted in the metal heating block of the device. The tube was heated at a rate of 0.5 K/min together with a temperature sensor in a metal heating block until melting of the sample was observed.

Discussion and Conclusion

The melting range of the test item was determined to be between 30.2 °C and 40.8 °C (303.4 K and 320.0 K).

Conclusions:
The test was carried out according to OECD guideline 102 and EC method A.1. The melting range of the test item was determined to be between 30.2 °C and 40.8 (303.4 K and 320.0 K).
Executive summary:

The test was carried out according to OECD guideline 102 and EC method A.1. The melting range of the test item was determined to be between 30.2 °C and 40.8 (303.4 K and 320.0 K).

Description of key information
