First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Not known to be a direct inhalation hazard. If exposed to
dust, move to area of fresh air. Seek medical advice if
signs of discomfort.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15
minutes. Seek medical attention if signs of discomfort.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water and mild soap or detergent. If signs of
discomfort, seek medical attention. Remove contaminted
clothing and wash thoroughly before re-use.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Dry foam, powder, water spray, carbon dioxide and other
extinguishing agents. No adverse reaction with normal
extinguishing agents is known, although pyrolysis
by-products following use of water may include nitrous
acids. Evaluate the nature of the incident before using
water.
Product arising from burning: Complete combustion will lead to the formation of carbon
dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and water. Incomplete combustion
(eg in enclosed spaces) will result in volatile organic
derivatives and carbon monoxide.
The products of complete combustion are not considered to be
hazardous, but incomplete combustion in the presence of
water may lead to the formation of organic and inorganic
acids.

Protective equipment: Full protective equipment is recommended including breathing
apparatus, suitable gloves, goggles and face protection.
Precautions suitable for strong inorganic acids should be
taken, especially in the presence of water.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Collect and place into correctly labelled containers and
dispose of as hazardous waste in accordance with local
regulations. Residues and minor spills may be washed away
with water to process drainage system if permitted under
local regulations.
Protective clothing should be worn including suitable
gloves, coveralls and dust mask.
Handling and storage
Handling: Personal protective equipment applicable to a potential
sensitiser is required, such as rubber gloves, eye/face
protection and coveralls.
There is not considered to be a significant risk of
inhalation when used in an adequately ventilated area,
although precautions are recommended to avoid exposure.
Storage: Store in the containers used for supply. Ensure the
containers are suitably labelled. No other special
precautions.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Transported in 60 kg plastic-lined fibre kegs.

Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: None reported.
Chemical reaction with water: None reported.
Dust explosion: As with other organic solids, there is a possibility of dust
explosion. As a precaution, it is recommended that levels
of dust are kept low and equipment is suitably earthed to
prevent electrostatic discharge.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance is not consumed during use. The preparation
cannot be recycled and any unused material should be
destroyed.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No known method.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: This is recommended for large quantites and solvent wastes.
Closed system incinerators with scrubbers should be used in
compliance with local and national legislation.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: A combination of chemical, physical and biological processes
will remove the substance from water.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: No other recommended methods of disposal.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable to the general public.
