Conclusion on classification
The substance barium bis(dihydrogen orthophosphate) has a low potential for bioaccumulation. The acute aquatic toxicity EC50 value determined for algae is 6.07 mg/L. All other available acute EC50 values are >10 mg/L (fish, aquatic invertebrates.). The available NOECs are > 1 mg/L. The substance is readily soluble and the solubility is greater than the acute and chronic ERV. In this case the classification of aquatic toxicity substance should be derived based on aquatic toxicity test data. Where E(L)C50 of acute fish, daphnia and algae and NOECof algae are above of trigger values, no acute and chronic classification need to be assigned to barium bis(dihydrogen orthophosphate) according to Regulation (EC) No.1272/2008 (CLP) and amending regulations (ATPs).
