First-aid measures
1. Description of first aid measures
First-aid measures general : Call a poison center or a doctor if you feel unwell. If possible show this sheet, if not available show packaging or label.
First-aid measures after inhalation : Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. If breathing stops, give artificial respiration. Call a doctor.
First-aid measures after skin contact : Get medical advice/attention. Wash off with soap and plenty of water
.
First-aid measures after eye contact : Immediately flush eyes thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention.
First-aid measures after ingestion : Call a poison center or a doctor if you feel unwell. Do NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Rinse mouth with water
2. Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
Symptoms/effects after inhalation : May cause respiratory irritation.
Symptoms/effects after skin contact : Irritation.
Symptoms/effects after eye contact : Eye irritation
3. Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
Treat symptomatically.
Fire-fighting measures
1. Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media : Water spray. Dry powder. Alcohol resistant foam. Carbon dioxide.
2. Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Fire hazard : Flammable liquid and vapour.
Hazardous decomposition products in case of fire : Carbon oxides (CO, CO2). Hydrogen bromide.
3. Advice for firefighters
Protection during firefighting : Do not attempt to take action without suitable protective equipment. If necessary, use an autonomous respiratory protection for the fire control. Complete protective clothing.
Other information : The closed containers may be cooled by water spray.
Accidental release measures
1. Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
1.1. For non-emergency personnel
Emergency procedures : Evacuate personnel to a safe area. No open flames, no sparks, and no smoking. Avoid breathing vapours, mist, gas. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear personal protective equipment. Provide adequate ventilation. Beware of vapors accumulating to form explosive concentrations. Vapours can accumulate in low areas.
1.2. For emergency responders
Protective equipment : Do not attempt to take action without suitable protective equipment.
2. Environmental precautions
Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Do not let product enter drains. Discharge into the environment must be avoided.
3. Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Methods for cleaning up : Take up liquid spill into absorbent material. Notify authorities if product enters sewers or public waters. Contain and collect spilled material with a antistatic vacuum cleaner and brush wet and put in a container for disposal according to local regulations.
Other information : Dispose of materials or solid residues at an authorized site.
Handling and storage
1. Precautions for safe handling
Precautions for safe handling : Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Ground/bond container and receiving equipment. Use only non-sparking tools. Take precautionary measures against static discharge. Flammable vapours may accumulate in the container. Wear personal protective equipment. Avoid breathing vapours, mist. Avoid contact
with skin and eyes.
Hygiene measures : Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Always wash hands after handling the product.
2. Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Technical measures : Ground/bond container and receiving equipment.
Storage conditions : Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep cool. Carefully close all opened container and kept upright to prevent leakage. Store in a dry place. Store in a closed container. Light sensitive.
(Germany) TRGS 510: Flammable liquids.
Incompatible products : Keep in the dark.
Storage temperature : 2 - 8 °C
This product is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 18(4) for transported isolated intermediate. Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management system is available at each site. Written confirmation of application of Striclty Controlled Conditions has been received from every Downstream user of the intermediate.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Appropriate engineering controls:
Ensure good ventilation of the work station. Emergency safety showers should be available in the immediate vicinity of any potential exposure.
Emergency eye wash fountains should be available in the immediate vicinity of any potential exposure. Handle in accordance with good industrial
hygiene and safety practice. Wash hands before breaks and after work.
Materials for protective clothing:
Impervious clothing. The type of protective equipment must be selected according to the concentration and amount of the dangerous substance at
the specific workplace.
Hand protection:
Manipulate with gloves. Gloves have to be controlled before the use. Use a technique of withdrawal of gloves suited to avoid that the skin contacts
the product (i.e. without touching the outside surface of the glove). Throw gloves contaminated after the use according to the current laws and to the
good practices of laboratory. Wash and dry hands. The selected gloves have to satisfy the specifications of the EU Directive 89 / 686 / EEC and in
the standard IN 374 which derives from it.
Eye protection:
Facial protection and safety goggles. Use an equipment of protection of eyes, tested and approved according to the current governmental
standards, such as NIOSH (US) or IN 166 (EU).
Skin and body protection:
Wear suitable protective clothing
Respiratory protection:
When risk assessment shows that the breathing apparatus uilisationdes is appropriate, use a full face mask with versatile cartridge (U.S.) or type
ABEK (EN 14387). If the mask is the only protection using a self-contained breathing apparatus with full face shield. Use of equipment and components tested and approved by NIOSH and CEN (EU).
Environmental exposure controls:
Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Do not let product enter drains. Discharge into the environment must be avoided.
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity: Flammable liquid and vapour.
Chemical stability: Stable under normal conditions.
Conditions to avoid: Avoid contact with hot surfaces. Heat. No flames, no sparks. Eliminate all sources of ignition.
Incompatible materials: Strong oxidizers. Strong bases.
Hazardous decomposition products: Under normal conditions of storage and use, hazardous decomposition products should not be produced.
Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methods : Dispose of contents/container in accordance with licensed collector’s sorting instructions. Burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with an afterburner and scrubber but exert extra care in igniting as this material is highly flammable. Offer surplus and non-recyclable solutions to a licensed disposal company. Dispose of contaminated packaging as unused product.
