Additional information

If released to air, a vapor pressure of 5.9x10 (-3) mm Hg at 25 deg C indicates diethylene glycol dinitrate will exist solely as a vapor in the atmosphere. Vapor-phase diethylene glycol dinitrate will be degraded in the atmosphere by reaction with photochemically-produced hydroxyl radicals; the half-life for this reaction in air is estimated to be 4.9 days. Diethylene glycol dinitrate contains chromophores that absorb at wavelengths >290 nm and therefore may be susceptible to direct photolysis by sunlight. Photolysis half-lives ranging from 15 to 59 days were measured in surface waters at 40 deg N latitude (Literature data from HSDB - SRC)
