First-aid measures
After inhalation: Supply fresh air and call for doctor for safety reasons. In case of unconsciousness bring person affected into stable side position.
After skin contact: Wash immediately with water and soap.
After Eye contact: After contact with the eyes, rinse with water with the eyelids open for a sufficient length of time. If irritation occurs, get medical assistance.
After swallowing: Do NOT induce vomiting. Call a physician immediately. Caution aspiration hazard. Keep respiratory tract clear.
Self-protection to the first aider: First aider: Pay attention to self protection.
Notes to the physician: The following symptoms may occur:Headache,Drowsiness, Unconsciousness, Dry skin
DANGER: If swallowed or in case of vomiting, danger of entering the lungs.
Fire-fighting measures
Special hazards arising from the substance: Highly flammable.
Hazardous combustion products:Smoke, fume, incomplete combustion products.
Advice for fire-fighters: Fire-fighters should wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and flame resistant clothing.
Suitable extinguishing agents: Carbon dioxide (CO2), foam, extinguishing powder, water spray jet.
Unsuitable extinguishing agents: Water with a full water jet.
Protective equipment: Self-contained breathing apparatus and flame resistant clothing.
Further measures: Use water spray jet to protect personnel and to cool endangered containers. Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. Do not allow entering drains or surface water. Use caution when applying carbon dioxide in confined spaces. Carbon dioxide can displace oxygen.
Accidental release measures
Environmental precautions: Do not allow product to reach sewage system or water bodies. Inform respective authorities in case product reaches water or sewage system. If material reaches soil inform authorities responsible for such cases.
Method cleaning up: Absorb with liquid-binding material (sand, diatomite, acid binders, universal binders, sawdust). Ensure adequate ventilation.
Additional information: Observe the instructions for disposal
Handling and storage
Fire prevention: Highly flammable liquid. Vapour heavier than air, spread at floor level and may form an explosive mixture in air. Keep ignition sources away. Do not smoke. Protect against electrostatic charges.
Aerosol and mist generation prevention: The liquid and its concentrated vapours have an acute irritating effect on skin and are also slightly narcotic. Wear personal protective equipment and use only with adequate ventilation.
Environmental precaution: Prevent spills and leakage to avoid contamination of sewage system or water bodies. Apply contaminated surface water via a separator and subsequent waste water treatment.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Technical measures and storage conditions:
Storage temperature: Ambient
Storage pressure: Ambient.
Keep container tightly closed. Ensure adequate ventilation of the storage area. Floor should be closed, sealed and not adsorbent. Open container slowly in order to control possible pressure release. Take precautionary measures against static discharge. Storage containers should be earthed and bonded. Fixed storage containers, transfer containers and associated equipment should be earthed and bonded to prevent accumulation of static charge.
Provide earthing of containers equipment, pumps and ventilation facilities.
Packaging materials:
Suitable Materials and Coatings for container/equipment: Steel, Stainless Steel, Polyester, Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA), Material, solvent-resistant
Unsuitable Materials and Coatings for container/equipment:
Butyl Rubber, Natural Rubber, Ethylene-propylene-diene monomer (EPDM), Polystyrene, Polyethylene
Requirements for storage rooms and vessels
Storage temperature: Ambient
Storage pressure: Ambient
Store in a cool, well-ventilated area. Outside or detached storage preferred. Fire water supply should be available. A deluge sprinkler system is recommended. Storage containers should be earthed and bonded. Fixed storage containers, transfer containers and associated equipment should be earthed and bonded to prevent accumulation of static charge.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Control measures to consider: Adequate ventilation should be provided so that exposure limits are not exceeded. Use explosion proof ventilation equipment.
Personal protection equipment: The personal protective equipment chosen depends on the potential exposure conditions at the workplace, and the way that the product is handled. Information on the selection of protective equipment for use is based upon intended, normal use.
Eye / Face protection: Use tight-fitting safety glasses with side protection.
Skin protection:
Hand protection:Any specific glove information provided is based on published literature and glove manufacturer data.
By short-term hand contact: Disposable gloves
By long-term hand contact: Gloves with long cuffs
Suitable Material: NBR (Nitrile rubber) or Viton (Fluororubber)
Glove thickness: 0.40 mm
Breakthrough time: > 480 min
CEN Standards EN 420 and EN 374 provide general requirements and lists of glove types.
Body protection:
Suitable protective clothing: Flame resistant clothing, Anti static safety shoes,
Additional body protection measures: Avoid contact with skin, eye and clothing. Remove contaminated, saturated clothing immediately. Wash hands before breaks and after work. After washing apply skin care cream.
Respiratory protection: For activities in enclosed areas, local extraction or explosion protected ventilation equipment is recommended in order to keep exposures below the permitted levels in the workplace.
Control parameters
Occupational exposure limits:
Limit value type (country of origin): AGW (DE)
Occupational exposure limit: value Source
long term: 1300 mg/m³ (Calculated according to RCP method, TRGS 900)
short term: 2600 mg/m³ (Calculated according to RCP method, TRGS 900)
Stability and reactivity
Conditions to avoid: Heat, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources.
Material to avoid: Keep away from oxidising agents.
Hazardous decomposition products: Material does not decompose at ambient temperature.
Additional information: Vapours may form explosive mixtures with air.
Disposal considerations
Disposal recommendations: Product is suitable for burning in an enclosed controlled burner for fuel value or disposal by supervised incineration at very high temperatures to prevent formation of undesirable combustion products.
Regulatory disposal information:
European Waste Code: 07 01 04
NOTE: This code is assigned based upon the most common uses for this material and may not reflect contaminants resulting from actual use. Waste producers need to assess the actual process used when generating the waste and its contaminants in order to assign the proper waste disposal code(s).
Empty container warning (where applicable): Empty containers may contain residue and can be dangerous. Do not attempt to refill or clean containers without proper instructions. Empty drums should be completely drained and safely stored until appropriately reconditioned or disposed. Empty containers should be taken for recycling, recovery, or disposal through suitably qualified or licensed contractor and in accordance with governmental regulations. DO NOT PRESSURISE, CUT, WELD, BRAZE, SOLDER, DRILL, GRIND, OR EXPOSE SUCH CONTAINERS TO HEAT, FLAME, SPARKS, STATIC ELECTRICITY, OR OTHER SOURCES OF IGNITION. THEY MAY EXPLODE AND CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH.
