First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures:
General notes: In all cases of doubt, or if you feel unwell, get medical attention.
Following inhalation: If inhaled, remove to fresh air if you feel unwell. Get medical aid if cough or other symptoms appear.
Following skin contact: In case of contact, immediately flush skin with plenty of water and soap. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical aid if symptoms occur. Wash clothing and shoes before reuse.
Following eye contact: In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with water or normal saline for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper a ndlower eyelids. Check for and remove any contact lenses if easily possible. Get medical aid if symptoms occur.
Following ingestion: If swallowed, induce vomiting under the guidance of professional doctors. If the injured is fully conscious: wash mouth out wi th water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical aid.
Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed: See "Toxicological information" for more information.
Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed: Treat symptomatically and supportively.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media:
Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray, foam, sand, dry chemical powder, CO2.
Unsuitable extinguishing media: N/A
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Finely dispersed particles may form combustible/ explosive mixtures in air.
Hazardous combustion products: In case of a fire, oxides of carbon, hydrocarbons, fume and smoke may be generated.
Advice for firefighters: Water spray can be use to keep fire-exposed containers cool. As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, and full protective gear. Approach fire from upwind to avoid hazardous vapors and toxic decomposition products. Move containers from fire area if this can be done without risk. Avoid breathing dust/fume. Prevent run off from fire control dilution from entering streams or drinking water supply.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
For non-emergency personnel:
Protective equipment: Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated in "Exposure controls/personal protection".
Emergency procedures: Evacuate and ventilate spill area. Remove all sources of ignition or heat. Use spark-proof tools and dust explosion-proof equipment. Do not walk through spilled material. Avoid breathing dust/vapor/fume. Review "fire-fighting measures" and "handling and storage" sections before proceeding with clean-up.
For emergency responders: N/A
Environmental precautions: Avoid dispersal of spilt material and runoff and contact with soil, waterways, drains and sewers.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
For containment: Stop leak if safe to do so. Move containers from spill area. Avoid generating dusty conditions.
For cleaning up: Sweep up or scoop up material carefully, and then place into a suitable disposal container for disposal according to local regulatio ns.
Other information: Contaminated floor may be flushed with water to chemical sewer.
Reference to other sections: Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated in Section 8. And see "Disposal considerations" for disposal information.

Handling and storage

Protective measures: Training should be provided to anyone working with or near this material. Training should cover potential health effects and
proper handling techniques. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Avoid ingestion and inhalation. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash clothing and shoes thoroughly before reuse.
Measures to prevent fire: Ensure good local exhaust ventilation. Handle and open container with care. Keep container tightly closed and away fromincompatible substances (see "stability and reactivity"), any sources of ignition or heat (e.g. open flames, hot surfaces). Take precautionary measures against electrostatic discharges. Minimize dust generation and accumulation. Empty containers retain product residue. Do not pressurize, cut, weld, braze, solder, drill, grind, or expose empty containers to heat, sparks or open flames. The work area should b equipped with the corresponding speciesnd quantity of fire equipment and leakage emergency equipment.
Measures to prevent aerosol and dust generation: Ensure good local exhaust ventilation. Handle and open container with care. Minimize dust gener at ion and accumulation.
Measures to protect the environment: Do not allow this product to be released to the environment without proper treatment.
Advice on general occupational hygiene: This product should be stored, handled and used in accordance with good industrial hygiene practices and in conformity with any legal regulation. Eating, drinking and smoking should be prohibited in areas where this material is handled, stored and pro cessed. Wash hands, forearms and face thoroughly after handling chemical products, before eating, smoking and using the lavatory and at the end of the working period.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Do not enter storage areas and confined spaces unless adequately ventilated. Containe rs that have been opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. Keep container tightly closed when not in use. Store in a c ool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances (see "stability and reactivity"), any sources of ignition or heat (e.g. open flames, hot surfaces), f ood, drink and feedstuffs. Inspect regularly for deficiencies such as damage or leaks. Treat carefully, avoid physical damage to containers. The stor age area should be equipped with the corresponding species and quantity of fire equipment and leakage emergency equipment.
